Vacuum sealing doesn't replace safe food handling. Keep sealed raw meat, fish and cooked food in the fridge or freezer, and follow the USDA's food safety guidance and the maker's manual.
Vacuum sealers have hot seal bars and electric parts. Unplug a machine before you clean it, and keep liquids out of the pump.
