Vegan food

For the environment it is better to consume less meat and dairy. Agriculture has a high emission percentage. Approximately half of the greenhouse gas emissions from it come from livestock farming. That is one reason to go vegan. It is also stated that vegans get more nutrients that are linked to the hormone serotonin, which causes happy feelings! In addition to those nutrients, vegans also eat relatively more vitamins, which then make you more resistant to diseases such as vitamins C and E. Vegan food makes you happy and keeps our planet green!

Vegan food is nothing new. It can be found back to the Greek period: there are indications that Pythagoras followed a vegan diet. Dr. William Lambe (1765-1848) is one of the most prominent researchers when it comes to veganism. He researched the vegetarian and vegan diet for people with a serious illness and published this study in 1815.

The English animal rights lawyer Donald Watson is the one who invented the word vegan (vegan) in 1944 on the basis of the term vegetarian and is also one of the founders of the British Vegan Society. This organization is mainly concerned with educating vegans, organizing events and participating in the public debate.

Cultures where veganism is most prevalent are Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism. This concerns ethical considerations: no violence against living things. Most Hindus believe in reincarnation: being reborn in another body after death. You can come back in the next life in the body of a goat or a chicken. An animal can therefore be a reincarnation of family or friends.

Vegan food enhance your mood, and it also indirectly improves your well-being. In general, vegetable foods contain a lot of magnesium and calcium, which among other things ensure a better night’s rest, less stress, better sex and what not!
